Placement Points
How tournament finishes turn into Circuit standings points.
Placement points connect each linked tournament's final results to the Circuit's cumulative standings. Points are not awarded automatically — an admin reviews placements and triggers the award action for each tournament.
Point rules
Field: pointRules — array of placement rules
The default placement-to-points table applied to all completed Circuit tournaments. Each rule maps a finishing position to a point value.
Example structure:
| Place | Points |
|---|---|
| 1st | 100 |
| 2nd | 75 |
| 3rd | 50 |
| 4th | 30 |
| 5th–6th | 15 |
| 7th–8th | 5 |
Set these before opening registration so teams understand how the season scoring works.
Tournament point override
Field: pointsOverrideEnabled — per-tournament setting
Use an override when a major, final qualifier, or special event should be worth different points from the Circuit default. The override applies only to that tournament's award action.
Award points
Field: award points — admin action
Completed tournaments do not award points automatically. Admins review final placements, confirm Circuit Team links, then trigger the award action. Points flow into standings immediately after awarding.
Only Circuit Teams linked to a tournament entrant receive points. If a team competed under a different entrant (not their Circuit Team), the link needs to be confirmed before awarding.
Re-award points
Field: re-award points — admin action
Re-awarding reverses that tournament's previous automatic awards first, then applies the latest placements and point table. Use this if placements were corrected after the initial award.
Re-awarding affects only the automatic awards for that tournament. Manual point adjustments made directly on Circuit Teams are not removed by re-awarding.
Void scoring
Field: void scoring — admin action
Voiding removes that tournament's automatic awards from standings entirely. Manual point adjustments on Circuit Teams are not removed by voiding — only the tournament's automatic award is reversed.
