Teams & Roster Rules

How teams enter the Circuit and how roster continuity is enforced.

Circuit Teams are the durable competitive unit in a Circuit. A team registers once and carries its identity — and points — across every linked tournament. Roster rules enforce continuity so a team can't fully change its membership while keeping its standings position.

Configuration fields

Team size

Field: teamSize — integer

Minimum active lineup size a Circuit Team needs to be tournament-ready.

Max roster size

Field: maxRosterSize — integer

Maximum number of players that can belong to the Circuit Team roster.

Minimum retained members

Field: minimumRetainedMembers — integer

Minimum number of original members a team must retain to satisfy continuity. This helps prevent a team from fully changing identity while keeping its points.

Admin actions

Continuity override

Field: continuityOverride — admin action

Admins can override continuity for legitimate roster changes. Overridden teams remain visible for audit but can be treated as eligible.

Roster freeze

Field: rostersFrozen — admin action

Freezing rosters locks add, remove, and captain-promotion actions. Use it near finals or another important cutoff.

Roster freeze affects all Circuit Teams simultaneously. Plan the timing carefully — once frozen, no roster changes can be made without unfreezing the entire Circuit.
