General
What is GotNext?
GotNext.gg is a Discord bot and web platform for running gaming competitions. Organizers manage ranked queues, tournaments, ladders, staff access, XP, achievements, and billing from one organization workspace. Competitors can complete many routine actions directly in Discord.
What can I run?
- Discord ranked queues: matchmaking, Elo ratings, drafts, seasons, and leaderboards inside your server.
- Tournaments: bracketed events with registration, check-in, match reporting, and organizer controls.
- Ladders: ongoing ranked competition with challenges, standings, and result reporting.
- Organization progression: shared XP, levels, and achievements across supported competition activity.
Does every Discord server need an organization?
Yes. Every new bot installation creates or reuses a GotNext organization. The organization owns the connected Discord server, competition data, staff permissions, and subscription. If you manage more than one eligible organization, the install flow asks which one should own the server.
Where do organizers manage competitions?
Organizers use the GotNext web workspace to configure competitions, resolve exceptions, manage members, and control billing. Discord is the main competitor surface, not the complete organizer control panel.
Does GotNext advertise my competition?
No. Organizers promote their own competitions and share their own tournament or ladder URLs. Publishing makes the competition available to the intended audience, but GotNext is not a marketplace for discovering competitions.
Subscription and trial
What is included in the subscription?
One GotNext organization subscription includes unlimited hosted tournaments, unlimited ladders, unlimited Discord Elo matches, organization XP, and achievements.
Can I try the bot first?
Yes. A new Discord server receives its first 20 Premium Elo matches without a card or time limit. The trial does not automatically charge you.
What happens to an existing paid Elo Bot subscription?
Existing active paid Elo Bot subscriptions continue to work. While active, the subscription also unlocks the connected organization's GotNext plan, including tournaments, ladders, XP, and achievements. Existing queue, player, rating, and match history stays in place.
Who can manage billing?
The organization billing owner can open the Stripe portal from GotNext. Organization staff permissions do not expose another person's Stripe account.
Accounts and competition
How do competitors connect their Discord identity?
Run /gotnext connect in Discord or connect Discord from account settings. Linking lets GotNext
match the Discord member to the correct account for registration, results, XP, levels, and
achievements.
What can competitors do from Discord?
Players can join ranked queues and use /gotnext to browse their organization's active tournaments
and ladders, register or join eligible solo competitions, check in, find matches, report supported
results, and view their organization profile. Team registration and roster changes remain on the
web.
How does match verification work?
Supported competition results are confirmed when the required reports agree. Conflicting reports become an organizer decision, where staff can review evidence and resolve the result from the web workspace.
How are rankings calculated?
Discord queues and ladders use Elo-style ratings. Rating movement depends on the result and the relative strength of the opponents. Tournament placement, organization XP, and achievements are separate progression systems.
